Look at What Taylor Made the Animators Do

Not quite sure yet what I think of the song itself — on first listen, it sounded pretty generic, both in terms of the retro beats and the lyrics, but it started to grow on me a bit with the second listen — however, the animation of the lyric video is great. Looks kind of like Lloyd Llewellyn-period Daniel Clowes doing the opening credits sequence for Mad Men:

  1. In an interview (https://mobile.nytimes.com/2017/05/24/arts/music/jack-antonoff-bleachers-lorde-interview.html) with The New York Times, Producer and songwriter, Jack Antonoff (who shares the track’s credit along with Swift, Richard Fairbass, Fred Fairbrass and Rob Manzoli of Right Said Fred) said, “The heart and soul of pop is newness, excitement, innovation. The music industry is built on chasing that ambulance — ‘someone did it, let’s go that way.’ I don’t want to be a part of that. I want to be away from it.”

Antonoff may not want to be part of it, but he helped Taylor chase the 1992 hit “I’m Too Sexy” and The Freds couldn’t be happier (http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/pop/7941949/taylor-swift-right-said-fred-thank-look-what-you-made-me-do) that they were caught.

I wonder if Antonoff is walking around singing “Look What You Made Me Do” to Taylor?
