The Music of David Lynch

On Sunday, April 10, 9 EST, AXS TV will screen The Music of David Lynch,* . . .

. . . documenting last year’s benefit concert for the David Lynch Foundation, which promotes Transcendental Meditation as a path to peace.

Among others, the concert features Sky Ferreira, . . .

. . . Flaming Lips, Chrysta Bell, Jim James, Duran Druan, Donovan, Lykke Li and Moby, who first gained widespread recognition with “Go,” based on a sample of “Laura Palmer’s Theme” from Twin Peaks:

A double album of the concert, The Music of David Lynch, will be released later in the week, on April 15:

musicofdavidlynchThe book Beyond the Beyond: Music from the Films of David Lynch, scheduled for April 26, . . .

Beyond the Beyond

. . . will also include a CD of the concert.

* I don’t understand why they used “Hungry Like a Wolf” for this clip. Yes, Lynch directed Duran Duran’s concert video, Unstaged . . .

. . . but why not use one of the many songs that immediately conjures images from Lynch’s films instead?
