Shades of Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey has released a new single, “Shades of Cool,” . . .

. . . from her upcoming album, Ultraviolence (out June 17), which will also contain “West Coast.” That previously released song now has a full video where director Vincent Haycock seems to be channeling Bruce Weber (with just a bit of David Lynch at the end):

Ultraviolence will not include the two post-Paradise songs Del Rey recorded for movie soundtracks, “Young and Beautiful,” from The Great Gatsby, and “Once Upon a Dream,” from Maleficent.

Nor will it contain the two cover songs she released last spring, Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood’s “Summer Wine” . . .

. . . and Leonard Cohen’s “Chelsea Hotel, No. 2”:
